Milwaukee Tools Apprentice of The Month - Pavlo Matviychuk
Humility is an incredible asset in an apprentice. A person who is freshly introduced to our trade may find themselves swimming in all the new information. But with tenacity and hard work, even the greenest of apprentices can rise to become forces to be reckoned with. In addition to this, the brightest stars tend to be the ones who don’t believe they’re going above and beyond when they actually are. It is with great pleasure we award Pavlo Matviychuk Apprentice of the Month for his outstanding work and effort.
“I really enjoy the classroom where we get a lot of information in a short period of time,” says Pavlo, currently a second year. “After that we get all this time in the field to think through all that information and apply it in our daily job, to visually interpret those concepts in real life.”
“Pavlo is one of those students you always enjoy having in class,” says Zac Goodman, second year instructor. “He asks fantastic questions, always makes sure he understands everything we’re covering, and helps his classmates, too. He is very deserving of this award.”
After completing first year, Pavlo is now experiencing his career as a second-year apprentice.
“Second year is pretty different from first year,” says Pavlo. “You start kind of better understanding what you’re doing. Journeymen and foremen start trusting you more. You end up feeling like you’re part of the team.”
When it comes to advice for other apprentices, Pavlo knows that persistence is key.
“It’s easy to feel sort of lost at first,” says Pavlo. “Just keep trying. If you don’t understand something, ask questions. Eventually, it’s going to start getting brighter, you’re going to feel more confident and comfortable working in the electrical field.”
For his hard work, Pavlo will receive a PACKOUT bag and hand tool from Milwaukee Tools and congratulations from all the staff at the Sacramento JATC.
