JATC Instructor Awarded for Her Outstanding Work

It is with great pride we announce that Erin Gibbens, third year instructor, is a recipient of an award from the Sacramento Central Labor Council in recognition of her outstanding and invaluable work. Erin has been one of the most prominent voices in organizing and retaining women in the trades and was a founding member and is a former president of the LU 340 Women’s Committee.

“I feel honored I was selected for the award, that the people I work with recognize the things we’ve been doing,” says Erin. “I feel like this award just makes me want to continue to do even more to reach as many women as possible and to express to them how much things have changed over the years, how we are so much more valuable to the trades now.”

Erin received the Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition at an event where she was joined by training director Chris Tillery and fellow sister and current Women’s Committee president Michelle Stoffel.
