Continuing education opportunities for electricians.

These courses are open to good standing members of IBEW Local 340, travelers working locally and NECA members.

  • Some classes will NOT be at the Training Center, but instead done via Zoom (or similar). Information for connecting to a remote classroom will be sent to your email the week prior to class.
  • You must register AT LEAST 1 week prior to the class dates chosen.
  • To ensure you receive your registration confirmation and link for any online classes please provide a valid email address.
  • Deposits are not required if you are in good standing with Sacramento JATC attendance; should you not show for a scheduled class, a $25 deposit per class will be required for any future classes you request.

Lighting Essentials

This is a free online course. No course deposit is required. We will send you the internet address upon enrollment. Upon course completion, provide the completion summary page to the Training Center office for entry onto your transcript. This course is a pre-requisite for the CALCTP lighting controls course.

State Exam Prep class (Online)

This is a self-paced course, with multiple practice quizzes of various number of questions. It is based on the current State Exam 2020 NEC code book.

This is an online (CANVAS) course.
We will send you the web information upon enrollment.
In-Person tutoring dates TBD, will be sent to those who enroll.

OSHA 30

(50) seats available for Journeyman only. Seats will be filled based on the order in which completed applications are received. Upon proof of completion, the LMCC will issue you a $250 incentive check.

This is a free online course. No course deposit is required. You will receive an email from HSI to enroll in the course. After completing the course, provide the Training Center office with your completion certificate for entry onto your transcript.

Journeyman/Apprentice Relations
A survey of the apprenticeship year by year as it relates to the journeyman/apprentice relationship. Will cover what to expect when you’re assigned an apprentice of a certain year and expectations of their work and knowledge.

Electric Vehicle Charging Systems

This is an online course. We will send you the web info upon enrollment. The pre-test & certification testing will be done in person.

The online portion must be completed prior to the in-person review/testing.

Note: Classes are not held on the 1st Wednesday of each month to support attendance at the Union meeting.

*Pending exam - Courses are offered to help prepare to take the Local 340 "Inside wireman's exam". (Enrollment is open to all, but priority will be given to those with a pending exam.)

AutoCAD and Welding classes are available through American River College. The JATC Trust will reimburse the cost for tuition and actual book fees (not to exceed $300) for completing (C or better) the class. The member must submit receipts for tuition and books.
