Chris Tillery
Training Director
Chris is a graduate of the Sacramento apprenticeship program and worked in various areas of the electrical industry before joining the staff at the JATC in 2019. Chris instructed the 5th year of the apprenticeship program, trainee classes, and Journeyman classes until 2022. He then took over as the Training Director of the JATC, where he now manages the day-to-day operations of the school.

Ken Irwin
Assistant Training Coordinator
Electrical Trainee Instructor
Ken served in the U.S. Navy as an Electrician’s Mate for eight years, after which he joined the IBEW and completed the JATC apprenticeship, graduating top of his class. In 2001 he joined the JATC as a staff member and since then has taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th years, and continues to train electrical trainees. Moving into his current role in 2022, Ken works with the Training Director to manage curriculum and programming for apprentices.

Tami Callan
Office Manager
Tami joined our team in December 2020 and has more than 20 years of experience in both Accounting and Operations Management. Her role includes all areas of management including but not limited to administration, operations, and facilities. She works closely with the Training Director and staff to ensure the success of all the Apprentices and the JATC.

Nicole Villasenor
Lead Program Administrator
Nicole has been with the JATC since March 2020 and before that worked for Veteran’s Affairs for five years as an Advanced Support Assistant. Her duties include operation of the apprentice interface Trade School, scheduling apprentice classes, processing apprentice raises and acting as social media liaison.

Kristy Lucero
Program Administrator
Kristy joined our team in October 2021 and brings a wealth of administrative experience to the JATC. Her main role includes customer service, processing of new applications, intake of new apprentices and communication with the contractors/apprentices regarding the work list and evaluations.

Stephanie Reyes-Bell
Program Administrator
Stephanie became a member of the JATC in January of 2024 and before that spent time working in the field of senior care services. Her main role includes the operations of the front desk, customer service, processing of new applications, administering aptitude tests, and intake of construction wiremen.

Brendan Nelson
Senior Instructor
Brendan has been with the training center since he first came in as an instructor in 2015. A graduate of the Sacramento Electrical Training Center apprenticeship program who finished with high honors and various accolades, and now an NTI graduate, he brings years of experience to his role as a senior instructor. Before joining the JATC, he worked in various facets of the electrical field ranging from data center construction and maintenance, manufacturing plants, military installations, school construction, and various industrial work.

Zac Goodman
Instructor
Zac received his BA in Geography from California State University, Chico. While working for a non-Union contractor, Zac moved from the non-Union apprenticeship he was in to the Sacramento Electrical Training Center apprenticeship. After graduating from the apprenticeship, Zac worked in the electrical field working in industrial, commercial, service and troubleshooting until he came to the JATC as an instructor in 2018. In his time here he has taught 1st year and electrical trainees and is now the 2nd year teacher.

Jacob Smith
Instructor
Jacob is a distinguished graduate of the Sacramento Electrical Training Center apprenticeship program. He worked as a foreman in the field with a wide range of responsibilities. He applied his expertise on projects that touched almost every area of our industry, including setting lights on a runway, bringing the audio-visual infrastructure of a local historical theater up to date, working on motor controls of bridges, and installing fire alarm systems in schools. In 2020 Jacob joined the JATC team teaching 1st-year curriculum and in late 2021 moved into the role of 5th-year instructor.

Will McKee
Instructor
Will is a graduate of the Sacramento Electrical Training Center apprenticeship program and has been teaching 1st-year apprentices since 2022. Before that he worked in the electrical field in HVAC and lighting controls, special projects, service, tenant improvements, and solar. Before his electrical career, he received his BA in Journalism from Sacramento State University and worked in the public information sector for years before becoming a construction wireman.

Erin Gibbens
Instructor
Erin has been teaching 3rd year since 2023. Previously she worked as a foreman spearheading tenant improvements, school maintenance and upgrades, and running a prefab department. She is a graduate of the Sacramento Electrical Training Center apprenticeship program and is actively involved in the IBEW 340 Women’s Committee as its current president. Before she became a journeyman she worked as a utility meter installer.

Jason Brown
Instructor
Jason is a graduate with honors of the Sacramento Electrical Training Center apprenticeship program and has been teaching the Residential Apprenticeship courses since 2023. Before that he worked as a foreman and general foreman in the electrical field working with fire alarm, drawbridge motor controls, traffic controls, school retrofits, and many other types of work. He holds a position in IBEW 340 on the Exam Board. Before becoming an electrician, he worked as a framer building custom homes in Sacramento and Yuba City.

Brian Stauffer
Instructor
Brian is an honors graduate of the Sacramento Electrical Training Center apprenticeship program. He worked as a foreman for Schetter Electric for years before entering the JATC as an instructor. He has worked on myriad jobs ranging from large industrial clean rooms to small tenant improvements. Brian became a member of the staff to teach experienced construction wireman and to also teach 3rd and 4th year of the apprenticeship.
