Milwaukee Tools Apprentice of The Month - Brittany Hunt
It’s important to find apprentices who both strive to increase their bed of knowledge, work hard, and also stay active with their fellows in different ways. One such apprentice is Brittany Hunt, a fourth year who has consistently proven her ability to rise above and who was recently chosen as one of the LU340 representatives at the 2022 IBEW International Women’s Conference in Washington, D.C.
“She is always in a good mood,” says Brendan Nelson, fourth year instructor. “She always has a great attitude and is always striving to understand everything in class. She is super active in the union and is a presence at almost every union meeting.”
Brittany also works hard to be active in the Local 340 Women’s Committee, to which she was voted in as a board member recently. This was directly after she had attended the IBEW Women’s Conference in September.
“I learned a great deal about how our organization isn’t just fighting for women’s rights but for all union rights,” says Brittany about attending the conference. “I got to see and meet so many women in positions of authority, it made me very aware of how important our work is and how it is shaping the country.”
Currently, Brittany works at L&H Airco where she gets to ply her trade and work on new and interesting HVAC control systems.
“She always keeps herself right in the middle of things, very curious,” says Ed Bacon of L&H Airco, a foreman who has worked with Brittany. “She’s a hard worker and always likes a challenge.”
For her hard work, Brittany will receive a PACKOUT bag and hand tool from Milwaukee Tools as well as congratulations from all the staff at the Sacramento JATC.
