Milwaukee Tools Apprentice of The Month - Jon Reville
As Union electricians, every journeyperson and apprentice should carry a decent amount of pride about their work. When we install something, we know that it is up to a standard with which unskilled labor can’t possibly compete.
Our apprentice of the month for December, Jon Reville, embodies that ideal perfectly. When he is on the job, he instantly takes a sense of achievement in his work and knows the quality with which he executes his duties.
“Take pride in your job!” says Jon when asked what advice he would give to other apprentices. “Don’t just show up; be a part of the process. Be proud to be a part of that process.”
“That dude is all about accuracy,” says Brendan Nelson, Jon’s fourth year instructor. “He can spot something that doesn’t look good from a mile away. You can honestly tell he genuinely cares and takes both our craft and his apprenticeship seriously. He’s always great to have in class.”
Jon, a fourth year from the north hall, has been working for M&J Electric since he was sponsored in, a CW before that. Through his experience and time with the Union, he has improved his skills and become a powerhouse of productivity and skill. The confidence he has in his ability is clear in how he looks at the work he’s done.
“People know my work, you know?” Jon says about his personal standards. “They know when I’ve been there. When you start the dynamic of making everything you do look clean, it’s hard to go against it. If you do a clean job, the person who comes in behind you can’t do a messy job because they have to match you!”
“He is the epitome of what an apprentice should be,” says Steve Sheets, Jon’s foreman and a board member for the Shasta-Butte JATC. “He is attentive, he is accurate, and his initiative is great. He’s a real self-starter and is always ready and willing to do anything.”
For his hard work, Jon will receive a PACKOUT bag and hand tool from Milwaukee Tools as well as congratulations from all the staff at the Sacramento JATC.
